Jaws Unleashed

Some gamers might remember the fun to be had when in control of Ecco the Dolphin on some of the consoles now consigned to museums.

Well, those developers have opted to recreate an altogether more aggressive swimming sensation in the shape of Jaws, the great white shark that terrified Amity Island in the classic movies.

Now you can take control of the big guy, playing out story missions from the films or simply free-roaming the island to see what havoc you can wreak.

With a full dismemberment engine, the human-chewing can get gory, and special attacking moves will help you combat killer whales and powerful boats.

All in all, it's an excellent twist on traditional action/ mission-based titles.

Torino Winter Olympics 2006

The Winter Olympics have arrived and now it's your chance to win gold in eight exhilarating and exhausting events, all from your living room.

In this sports simulation, players must get to grips with the likes of biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, luge, skating and skiing. Each one requires different skills and mastering them all is a hefty challenge.

Graphically, the game looks fantastic, from the piercing blue Torino skies to the speeding luge track flashing past.

It's an excellent mix of events that will entertain for some time, and the accurate environments and realistic stadium really add a competitive Olympic edge. But don't forget your gloves (it can get pretty cold at the top of the ski jump.
